Simon Cowell and Will.i.am are teaming up to find the next pioneering technology entrepreneur, like Bill Gates, in a new reality show, Techcrunch is reporting. The two media moguls will model the competition after the record producer’s singing competitions, such as ‘X ‘Factor’ and ‘American Idol.’ Few details about the show’s exact format and when it will premiere have been released, however.
But Cowell and Will.i.am’s show is reported to feature entrepreneurs pitching their ideas to an all-star panel of judges. The series will reportedly be based in the U.K.
Of the show’s premise, Will.i.am told The Sun “singing and performance create a couple of jobs. But this will create lot.” The reported added the series is “about getting in touch with youth and giving them a platform to express themselves — whether that’s in science or mathematics.”
Will.i.am revealed his collaboration with Cowell while speaking at a technology conference in London. The Black Eyed Peas singer added the reality host is “cool. We had a wicked dinner a couple of weeks ago and it was very nice.”
